Current Use

The Bicton facilities currently include a few occupied independent living residences, some 21 vacant independent living units, and a vacant residential aged care facility that was decommissioned in 2016.

The redevelopment of Braemar in Bicton seeks to improve the quality, range and capacity of residential care and accommodation services in Bicton to better meet contemporary living standards and aspirations.

Braemar has recognised that our Bicton site provides an opportunity for regeneration to better meet the increasing demand for aged care places in the local area, to ensure that the facility and services meet contemporary
standards of care.

The Braemar Lodge Aged Care Facility had been a major part of the care services that Braemar has provided to the community, however the facility aged over this time and was closed in 2016 as it no longer meets the
Australian Government’s building compliance requirements for provision of high quality aged care to residents. Additionally, the independent living units at Braemar Gardens no longer meet the accommodation and
amenity standards that Braemar seeks to provide all its residents.

Future Use

In order to ensure our Bicton site provides residents with a contemporary standard of living, Braemar is seeking to redevelop the site into a modern and tasteful aged care and retirement living facility, with all the amenities
and services that residents and families should expect of a high quality care facility.

The improvement to our Bicton site will ensure there are attractive, contemporary and sustainable amenities on offer to the local community that will provide high quality aged care services, now and into the future.
